Animal Behaviour Consult Ltd is owned and managed by myself, Deborah Fry. I am based in Hampshire and have expertise in domesticated dogs, cats and rabbits.
When able to offer behaviour consultations, I travel to Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire and sometimes beyond, and offer nationwide and international online consultations.
I travel over a similar radius for in-person risk assessments e.g. if dog owners are applying to adopt or foster a child, or where vulnerable people are involved and in the case of school dogs. My expert witness work related to criminal and civil court proceedings is nationwide.
I am a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) accredited by CCAB Certification Ltd (CCAB Cert Ltd) for dogs, cats and rabbits. The code of conduct for CCAB's can be found here. I am also a Certificated Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC), and a Full Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). In addition, I am registered as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), and as a Vetted Member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. These accreditations are based on post-graduate qualifications, extensive clinical practice, clinical skill assessment and endorsement by referring Veterinary Surgeons.
My BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare was awarded by Bournemouth University, and my MSc in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law, by the University of Edinburgh.
I have had a number of behaviour articles peer-reviewed and published in veterinary and intergovernmental journals, and have presented on behaviour-related subjects at veterinary conferences. I have also provided course material for Edinburgh University's Master's degree course in Clinical Animal Behaviour. I regularly attend conferences, seminars and webinars to remain informed of scientific developments in the field of animal behaviour.
I am a Founder Member and Director of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC), and serve on the committee as Planning and Projects Liaison. When able to, I offer teaching and supervision opportunities for those working towards their clinical animal behaviour accreditation goals. I am also a behaviour-related peer-reviewer for a veterinary journal.
